Explore the Hidden Beauty of Lombok

  Eco tourism and farmstay in Central Lombok  - We stayed at a tree bamboo cottage, it is on a small hill, nicely surrounded by rice fields and a garden. The garden is really colourful, with different flowers, plants,... read more fruit trees (dragon fruit, papaya, pineapple, ), and has many beautiful details (lookout points and sitting opportunities with stunning views, bonfire place, etc.). The cottage has a terrace, but keep in mind that a basic room is provided (no wifi, but there is electricity, a private bucket shower/toilet, and toilet paper/soap/mosquito net). It's a quiet place, and nice to have local breakfast and coffee/tea here. The very friendly host and his wife can provide local food, and he/she will also come sometimes around to provide some local fruit or ask you to join to sing karaoke (a very funny thing!)

This Eco farmstay is part of Mr. Tony‘s BC Foundation, a very ambitioned education/school project in Central Lombok. You could share some English or hospitality skills as a volunteer there.

There are always activities going on in the village (ceremonies such as weddings), you can enjoy local food, and Mr. Tony or the students of BC Foundation can show you around to nice places (lakes, waterfalls, ), and you can rent a scooter in the village. We really felt welcome by everybody in the village and the farmstay!

We could do and visit many nice places in the area, like waterfalls, lakes and swimming pools. The area, with its palm trees, rice fields and sunsets is breathtaking. The days we spent in North-Betakliung at BC were without a doubt our most precious days in Indonesia. By going here, you also support the great cause of the BC foundation, which is to teach young people English to improve their opportunities.

  Profound and joyful experience in BC Foundation, Tanak Beaq village-Lombok  - My boyfriend and I became part of this amazing family from the first minute we arrived there, we were welcomed so well and we stayed a week, learned a lot... read more about their habits and customs, trying different and tipical food, visiting the beautiful landscapes and waterfalls around. We didn’t have time to climb the Rinjani mountain but we had so many great feedbacks about it from others costumers who have partecipated with the BC Foundation. So do it with them!
Mr Tony is very dedicate of his Foundation, he created it for the youth who can’t afford the university, and he is doing a great job to create a nice space where students can learn english and have the possibility to meet and share moments with other people from other countries. Best way for them and totally also for us to learn something new.

  Great cultural exchange - I had a wondefull time at BC and was made to feel very welcome. It's really inspiring to see what Mr.Tony has done for all of the students and he... read more involved us in many local events and we even went to a wedding. The place is very beautiful and he got me a cheap motorbike to rent so I could explore lots of the island and all of the amazing waterfalls.
The students and other volunteers were great fun to hang out with and I made a lot of great friends and I am missing them all already. Mr.Tony is also a great guy and I had a lot of interesting conversations during my time there. There was lots of tasty food available that I had never tried before and I never went hungry.
I look forward to returning in 2024 to trek and stay up Mount Rinjani with Mr.Tony for 10 days.

You can also participate to the classes of English because Mr Tony is running a foundation to help kids improve their English.
You will get it all : traditional food, ceremonies (wedding, wedding parades, birthdays etc), amazing sceneries (waterfalls, lakes, rice fields), and especially the kindness of the people you will meet.
